Oysters
written by Sabine Heusler-Schick
Oysters and rockets,
I’ve stones in my pockets
I’ve dreams in my hands
and stars in my eyes
Red roses wishes
Desires on kisses
a head full of dreams
that barely survive
my crucifix, my holy burden
my duty, my cross to bear
I’m not ready, I’m not ready to go
I’m not ready, I’m not ready to go
I’m not ready, I’m not ready… to go
When I came in the air went out
(did you feel it?)
Is it a ghost you feel, without a doubt
do you think you can escape from me,
well before this night is through,
I’m gonna do bad things to you.
I’m gonna do bad things to you.
I’m gonna do, very very bad things to you.
to you and you and you

The Story
1913 and Irma Fox was a star
and might I humbly suggest that I was perhaps the greatest stage diva there ever was…
but.. it was my duty and my burden
Yes I was adored, admired and loved
especially by Mr Turner Grey
Oysters and champagne in my dressing room every night
endless flowers, and all manner of shiny sparkly things
and oh so many gifts of fury affection
I appreciated them all,
especially those from my Mr Turner Grey
One evening as the audience loudly applauded
just before the curtain fell, at my last harah,
my last peaked vowel, I gasped
and fell,
quite dead
everyone stood, everyone screamed, everyone in shock
especially poor Mr Turner Grey
…. but not….
his wife….
